Brian Kelly praises Jayden Daniels after LSU’s win over Alabama as the Tigers push for the CFB Playoffs
LSU coach Brian Kelly expressed his followers’ pride Saturday’s triumphant overtime win over Alabama. It was a 32-31 victory, decided when Jayden Daniels threw a two-point conversion to the pylon to Mason Taylor that sent Tiger Stadium into a frenzy. LSU has taken control of the SEC West and looks to become the first two-loss team to reach the College Football Playoff if this season ends with a conference title.
Daniels gave LSU the lead late in the fourth quarter on a seven-yard pass from Taylor, but Alabama’s Bryce Young led a drive that ended with Will Reichard’s 46-yard field goal with 21 seconds left to keep the session going.
“It’s a pretty excited locker room there as you can imagine. I’m so proud of my football team and the way they took it one by one,” Kelly said. “For me, just to see them grow, this was the next stage in the development of our football team where they didn’t have to just not think about the outcome and think about one game.”
Here’s what Kelly had to say after the game as the Tigers moved closer to winning the SEC Championship in their first season.
