‘Completely wrong’: Mattia Binotto’s claim to FIA over Red Bull maneuver

Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto joins several team bosses in protest against maneuver he’s leading Running of the red bulls. The Austrian team’s aim is to add a new driver to its junior squad, Alpha Tauri, for next season. However, those of Milton Keynes want to ignore the regulation and await the response of the International Automobile Federation to continue their plan. Yet RBR’s rivals have not been shy about raising their voices against the leaders of the 2022 Formula 1 season.

After the clear refusal of Toto Wolff, Mike Krack and Gunther Steiner, Mattia Binotto joined the complaint against Running of the red bulls. The Ferrari boss has assured that there is no force majeure reason for Colton Herta to enter Formula 1 without the necessary points for his super licence, as the Austrian team maintains.. In the same vein, the Swiss director highlighted the work of the Italian team’s young drivers’ academy and the process of new drivers until they reach the highest category of motorsport.

According to RBR, Gasly’s ideal replacement is Herta.

“First of all, we are investing heavily in our Ferrari Driver Academy and continuing to do so. I think a force majeure reason cannot be used for Herta. That would be a completely wrong approach. Rules exist to protect our sport and ensure that we make the right process and decisions for our sport itself. Therefore, Herta will be able to participate in the championship, when it has the conditions to do so, and not in any other way”, assured Mattia Binotto about the maneuver of Running of the red bulls with Colton Herta.
