Florida Senate: GOP Sen. Marco Rubio defeats Democratic candidate Val Demings

In Florida, the Fox News Decision Desk says Republican Sen blond frame defeated Democratic representative Val Demings, by millions of votes.

Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, was sworn in first Senator of Florida in 2011 and has been in that position ever since. He also ran for president in 2016, but lost the GOP nomination to former President Donald Trump.

Rubio currently serves as vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.

Demings, the Democratic nominee and Orlando’s first female police chief, currently represents the 10th District. Congressional districtbut she gave up her seat in an attempt to unseat the Republican senator.

Gas prices and inflation they were in first place during the pair’s one and only debate. “Our oil reserves don’t exist to win midterm elections,” Rubio said. “They exist to help this country in an emergency or in the middle of a storm. What we can’t do is some of these crazy policies coming from the left that Congresswoman Demings has supported.”

Demings fired back at Rubio’s comments during the heated debate. “Of course, a senator who has never run anything but his mouth would know nothing about helping people and being there for people when they are in need.”

Demings suggested that her opponent does not support any exemptions for abortion, including rape and incest, while Rubio claimed that Demings supports “no restrictions, no restrictions” on abortion.

“The an extremist on abortion Congresswoman Demings is in this campaign. She doesn’t support any restrictions, no restrictions of any kind,” Rubio said. “She’s against the fourth month ban, she voted against the five month ban. It supports taxpayer-funded abortion, on demand, for any reason, at any time, up until the moment of birth.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Demings on multiple occasions asking what, if any, abortion restrictions he supports, including up to the point of birth, but did not receive a response.

“Senator, how gullible do you really think the voters of Florida are,” Demings responded to Rubio’s pro-abortion claim. “You have made it clear that you do not support any exceptions, even including rape and incest.”

During the election cycle, Florida was devastated by Hurricane Ida, prompting both candidates to suspend their campaigns and, despite the political divide, focus on disaster recovery.
