From market to glass: How to clean pomegranates and make juice from them
You must have often seen an army of bright red pomegranates in front of the fruit stand at the market. It’s like they’re waiting for you to take them home. Who doesn’t love to bite into these little red gems? Well, most people prefer to consume it in juice form. Pomegranate juice is certainly one of the most popular fruit juices because they are a treat for the soul. Pomegranates are full of antioxidants, fiber, unsaturated fats, vitamin E, vitamin K and magnesium, so they have high results in the health quotient as well.
While it may be a task to clean a pomegranate, making its juice is quite easy. If you follow the chef Kunal Kapoor’s method, you don’t even need a juicer. The chef also shared a simple recipe for pomegranate seeds in his Instagram post. Well, what are you waiting for? Get started now.
Sharing the tips, Kunal Kapoor wrote, “Pomegranate is a fruit that contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances. vitamin E, K and magnesium. Learn how to make a simple juice from it in minutes without any juicer.” Watch:
Steps to deseed and prepare a glass of pomegranate juice:
Step 1: First, cut the flower from the top.
Step 2: Using a knife, cut along these wider rib sections of the pomegranate. Be careful to cut through the red skin and most of the way through the white pith. PS: Don’t cut into the seeds or you’ll land ua juicy mess.
Step 3: Open it and clean the thin white membranes that separate the ruby-red gems.
Step 4: As you pick the pomegranate seeds, keep dropping them into the bowl of water. Why? This is an easy way to clean fruit.
Step 5: Now empty the pomegranate ua mixerand grind it.
Step 6: Strain the juice to remove the seeds. And, mission accomplished.
Pour the juice into a glass and enjoy.
