“In F2 and F3 they do a better job”

The Grand Prize of The Netherlands highlighted the mistakes the Ferrari team made in the pits throughout the 2022 season, which were key to Spanish driver Carlos Sainz finishing eighth in the Circuit Zandvoort Sunday September 4th.

Former Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg has harshly criticized the team of “Sky Sports”, a company for which he works as an analyst.

“My God, Mattia Binotto (Scuderia Ferrari team principal) keeps saying, “No, no, we don’t need to make any changes, everything is fine”. When will the day come? It’s not possible, even the Formula 2 or F3 teams do a better job in their strategy and pit stops than Ferrari,” he said.

For the ex-Williams and Mercedes driver, it is clear that there must be a change to avoid the terrible failures they have suffered, especially those of this weekend, such as the one with the tire that was missing from the pits and has ruined Sainz, or the water gun that was thrown into the pit lane and crushed by “Czech” Perez of Red Bull, a mistake that could have cost the Mexican a penalty.

Rosberg also went against the car F1-75, pointing out that he didn’t have a good rhythm.

“You go to the pits and there is no tyre. At some point they have to start making changes. Also his car has little pace in the races, we saw that in Spa, and we saw it again here, so they are starting to lose. They have to make sure they keep developing this car in the right direction.”
