According to the source, the production staff of Kross’s show Cross connection he was informed of the decision on Friday. The network decided not to renew the headline-grabbing host after two years and decided to cut ties with her immediately. Diversity and Mediaites was the first to report sudden exit.
A rotation of guest hosts will fill Cross’s weekend slots until a permanent replacement is found. The production team will remain online.
A source also told The Daily Beast that Cross’s commentary repeatedly crossed the line by not adhering to the network’s editorial standards.
While noting that it’s not related to one specific incident or remark, the source pointed out that just last Thursday night, Cross called Florida a “dick of the country.” during the appearance on Charlamagne th God’s Comedy Central show.
Besides, Cross failed intense fire from the conservative media for her increasingly harsh commentary on race and white Americans, and the show has long been a source of controversy for MSNBC.
In fact, far-right Fox News hosts Tucker Carlson recently claimed that the host, a black woman, was deliberately trying to incite a Rwandan-style “race war” against whites, prompting the Anti-Defamation League to condemn Carlson’s remarks.
