Prisco’s NFL Week 9 picks: Chiefs stun Vikings; The Saints upset the Ravens; The Bucs beat the Rams to slide

I did it. I finally did it.

I had a good week.

That’s the only way you can describe a week where I went 7-0 with my best bets as part of the Pick Six Podcast, 8-7 against the spread with my expert picks, and 11-4 straight up.

That’s right. My best bets were undefeated, baby.

Other areas were not as good, but there was progress. 7-0 improves my best bets record to 27-20 for the year, with my ATS record now 58-61-4 and my outright record 68-54-1.

For once there is no doom and gloom. Now comes the hardest part: Try it all over again.

I say that’s two good weeks in a row. Are you ready for it?

Featured game | Houston Texans vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are undefeated and playing at a high level. The Texans aren’t playing anywhere near that. But it’s a short week that could pose a challenge for the road team. The real challenge with the short week is for teams preparing for the Eagles offense. That’s the difference. Jalen Hurts continues to play well.

Select: Eagles 33, Texans 13

Featured game | Atlanta Falcons vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are coming off a bye and must go into the passing game. The throws were not there. They will come back for the Chargers in this one. The Falcons have been a surprise this season, leading the NFC South. He’ll be running it all day at the Chargers, but I think Justin Herbert finally kicks off the passing game in a big way.

Select: Chargers 34, Falcons 26

Featured game | Chicago Bears vs. Miami Dolphins

This is the second straight road trip for the Dolphins against an NFC North team. They won Lions last week, throwing it all over the field. This will not be such a fast track, which will slow them down. But I still think the passing game will be too much for the Bears. Dolphins take it.

Select: Dolphins 30, Bears 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Cincinnati Bengals vs. Carolina Panthers

The Bengals looked bad when they lost on the road Monday night at the Browns. The offensive line was manipulated. The Panthers are playing back-to-back games on the road, which won’t be easy. They play better with them PJ Walker at quarterback and I think their defense, especially with that front, is holding them in this one.

Select: Bengals 26, Panthers 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers

The Packers actually showed some life on offense last week against the team Accounts, which is a good sign. The Lions defense could be the perfect tonic to really get them going. Detroit can score on offense, so this could be a higher scoring game. Give me Aaron Rodgers to finally put up some numbers and win.

Select: Packers 31, Lions 27

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders are playing their second straight game on the road, while the Jaguars returned home after losing to the team Broncos in London. The Raiders failed to score a point in a loss to Saintswhich is worrying. Trevor Lawrence hasn’t played well, which is also a concern for Jacksonville. I think that is changing here. Jaguars won.

Select: Jaguars 24, Raiders 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Patriots were impressed with the win Jets on the road last week, while the Colts lost to Washington in the Sam Ehlinger’s the first beginning. The Colts just haven’t been good on offense all year, no matter who is playing quarterback. But last week they showed some signs of life. The Patriots haven’t been much better on offense, but I think their defense will win this game. It’s close.

Select: Patriots 21, Colts 17

Buffalo Bills (-13) at New York Jets

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

The Jets are coming off a tough loss to the Patriots in which the offense was poor. Zach Wilson he has to pick up his game. The Bills can muster a lot of offense, which they will do against the Jets’ defense. The Jets won’t be able to keep up. Buffalo continues.

Select: Bills 37, Jets 23

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Washington Commanders vs. Minnesota Vikings

This is suddenly a big game as the Commanders have won three in a row. The Vikings have snapped five in a row. Minnesota wasn’t blowing teams out, but it was finding a way. The Commander’s defense has played better lately and I think it will here as well. The commanders understand this with slight alarm.

Select: Commanders 27, Vikings 26

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Featured game | Arizona Cardinals vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are in first place in the NFC West, and they’re getting there with a good offense as the defense improves. Arizona has the offense, but the defense has struggled as well. This will be a high scoring game, but I think Seattle’s offense will get the most out of it.

Select: Seahawks 30, Cardinals 28

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Featured game | Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Rams

When the schedule was released, this looked like the game of the week. It’s a survival test now. Both teams are fighting. So who can turn it around? I’m going with the Bucs. They are at home and their offense doesn’t struggle as much as the Rams. Tom Brady conquers.

Select: Bucs 24, Rams 17

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC, FuboTV)

Featured game | Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tennessee Titans

This is the game of the week, with Derrick Henry against Patrick Mahomes. It’s the runner against the passer. Give me a passer. The Titans are coming off a second straight game, while the Chiefs are out of sorts and coach Andy Reid is outstanding. That’s a big advantage for Kansas City, but Henry will keep his team.

Select: Chiefs 31, Titans 21

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN, FuboTV)

Featured game | New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens will rest after playing Tampa Bay last Thursday. They ran the ball for over 200 yards in that game. That won’t happen against this Saints defense. Look for the New Orleans defense to continue to play well after shutting out the Raiders last week.

Select: Svetaca 26, Gavrana 20
