‘SNL’ deals with Herschel Walker’s Georgia runoff campaign
Round two for Georgia’s remaining US Senate seat was in the spotlight during the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live.”
The show began with Republican senators meeting with Kenan Thompson as Herschel Walker to discuss Tuesday’s election.
“Herschel, the appointments haven’t been the red wave we were hoping for, but we think you can win this Tuesday,” said Mikey Day as Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas.
“Yeah, it’s a priority right now to get out the vote because you’ve got this big runoff coming up,” said Cecily Strong as Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee.
Thompson while Walker replied, “Well, I’m good at it. My ex-wives said all I do is run away.”
The group continues to talk about how competitive Walker’s race against Sen. Raphael Warnock is.
“This second round is really important, Herschel. We could really use a win now,” Day’s Cornyn explained.
“You can count on me,” Thompson told Walker. “I came to chew ass and kick gum and I’m all buttless.”
“Maybe in a last ditch effort, let’s lay low and focus on the message,” Strong’s Blackburn said.
“Exactly. Just like Kanye,” said Thompson’s Walker.
“No no!” Strong’s Blackburn said in response.
After senators became increasingly concerned about the Republican nominee as he said he would investigate “vampires, werewolves” and “that scary little Geico gecko,” they decided to go with their Plan B, which included James Austin Johnson as the Senate Minority . Leader Mitch McConnell puts Walker in a safe room and locks the door.
“It’s only for a few days,” Johnson joked to McConnell before the show began.
