USA v Wales, England v Iran and Netherlands v Senegal

The 2022 World Cup is upon us.

The tournament started on Sunday with Ecuador’s 2-0 win over hosts Qatar and resumes in earnest on Monday with three games.

The United States and England are in Group B and are both looking for three points ahead of their massive Black Friday clash. Both teams are favored in their opening games and would be in a great position to advance with wins on Monday.

England v Iran

Monday at 8am, Fox Sports 1

England should win this game with ease, although we are fascinated by how this game plays out. Iran is coached by Carlos Queiroz. His teams are known for bunkering in front of the goal and preventing goals at all costs. England want to play five defenders at the back and prefer to attack on the counter. The three lions will dominate the property. And if the time ever came for Gareth Southgate to play a back four and Declan Rice, Calvin Phillips and Jude Bellingham all in the middle, that’s it.

Senegal vs Netherlands

11:00 a.m. ET Monday, Fox

Senegal’s odds have not moved with the news that striker Sadio Mane has been ruled out. However, we would be inclined to draw a flyer. This is the best African team and Ismaila Sarr is capable of leading the front line while Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the best defenders in the world.

United States v. Wales

2 p.m. ET, Monday, Fox

As you probably know, the USMNT is back at the World Cup for the first time since 2014. That drought is nothing compared to a Wales team that is at the World Cup for the first time in 64 years. Gareth Bale remains the star for Wales after playing a part-time role at LAFC and Aaron Ramsey remains a key component. The biggest question for the Welsh is Joe Allen; he suffered a hamstring injury in September and has not played since. If Allen can’t go, there is no real replacement for him on the team.

We will lead the USA to victory in what could be one of the five most critical games of the group stage. The loser of this game has a huge uphill climb to reach the Round of 16.
